This position combines individual counselling with community outreach initiatives. In this role, you will provide essential support to women who have faced gender-based violence, utilizing your knowledge of feminist practices and harm reduction philosophies.
You will create a protected space for healing and promote self-advocacy skills among clients, ensuring they are supported in their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive and therapeutic counselling
- Facilitate access to community resources
- Develop action and safety plans collaboratively
- Engage in crisis intervention and ongoing support
- Deliver educational group sessions for skill development Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant counselling experience
- Degree/diploma in social work preferred
- First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification
