We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner for a Licensed Daycare Facility in Goderich, ON to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and child-safe environment. This role is critical to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of children, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of hygiene in childcare settings, and follows strict cleaning and safety protocols.

Duties

- Perform weekly (on either Saturday or Sunday) deep cleaning and sanitizing of daycare areas, including classrooms, washrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, tables, chairs, toys, and play equipment
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using child-safe cleaning products
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, sinks, and diaper-change areas according to health guidelines
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as required




- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met throughout the facility
- Follow all health, safety, and infection-control procedures specific to childcare environments
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors

Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience in a daycare, school, healthcare, or commercial setting is preferred
- Knowledge of proper sanitizing and disinfecting procedures, especially in childcare environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Reliable transportation is an asset

Job Type: Fixed term contract Pay: From $18.00 per hour
