Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable dog grooming assistant to join our team. The Grooming Assistant will be responsible for preparing dogs for grooming, bathing, drying, assisting Groomers with finishing process as well as providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, fast paced environment with a focus on animal care and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

- Preparing dogs for bathing, by brushing, combing, nail trims, ear cleaning and shaving when necessary
- Bath and dry dogs using appropriate grooming products and techniques
- Assist groomers with handling dogs during grooming procedures
- Maintain general cleanliness of grooming shop and equipment
- Ensuring safety and care when handling dogs and monitor behaviour and health
- Heavy lifting and ability to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments




- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and concerns professionally
- Follow procedures to ensure a safe workplace for dogs, clients, and staff

Skills

- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining grooming tools and workspaces
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Punctuality and reliability are a must
