Overview

We’re looking for a creative, compassionate, and enthusiastic Drama Instructor to lead engaging drama activities for children, teens, and adults with special needs at the Friendship Circle.

In this role, you’ll use theatre, movement, and storytelling to encourage self-expression, confidence, communication, and creativity. You’ll create a fun, inclusive environment where every participant feels supported, valued, and empowered to shine.

Duties

- Design and deliver interactive drama lessons tailored to children and adults with special needs, emphasizing fun, participation, and skill development
- Lead participants through acting exercises, improvisation games, storytelling, and performances to build confidence and self-expression
- Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities, communication styles, developmental needs, and comfort levels
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, communication, and respect
- Support participants’ social-emotional growth, confidence, and independence through mentorship and encouragement

Qualifications

- Prior experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating drama, theatre arts,



or related programs
- Strong background in performing arts, with the ability to demonstrate acting techniques and theatrical principles
- Experience working with children and/or adults with special needs is an asset
- Ability to adapt activities for individuals with diverse abilities and learning needs
- Strong communication, patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and abilities
- Ability to create engaging lessons incorporating storytelling, improvisation, movement, and performance
- Additional experience in education, recreation, or caregiving is a plus but not required
