Job Overview

MaxECS is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team in Crossfield, AB. In this role, you will support teacher effectiveness by working with learners who require individualized supports for significant challenges, while promoting their independence, confidence, and growth.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working collaboratively, and is committed to helping young children succeed.

Position Details

- School‑year program (contracts end in June; dates vary by location)
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, including behavioural challenges, is essential
- Level 1 Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification required (or currently working toward completion)

Responsibilities

- Provide care, supervision, and support for preschool‑aged children
- Collaborate with teachers to implement engaging, age‑appropriate lesson plans




- Support children’s learning in areas such as early numeracy, literacy, and social‑emotional skills
- Monitor and observe children’s progress, sharing feedback with teachers
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour‑support strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
- Work collaboratively with the educational team, including therapists and families

Skills & Requirements

- Level 1 Early Childhood Education certification (or in progress)
- Experience working with young children requiring additional support, including behavioural challenges
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (applications from outside Canada cannot be considered)
