SUMMARY The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for key building improvement and new equipment construction projects. This specifically includes:
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Detailed Cost Estimates for key building improvement and new equipment construction projects
- Objectively calculate materials, labour, and equipment costs based on proposals, plans, and specifications, including project closings
- Draft requests for quotations to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Elaborate consistent and reliable project costing templates by unit, division or type

- Coordinate a cost benchmarking process through the project bid process for all regions.
- Standardize price grid utilisation, gather extensive pricing information, for Construction, Services & equipment.
- Supply consistent data, training and support to the project managers in their estimation efforts and validate certain project estimations.
- Assess and challenge change orders real market value with project managers and vendors
- Provides interactive support to all bids/proposals
- • Collaborate with the Lead Estimator and Projects Team to determine project costs and overheads for each estimate.
- Ultimately responsible for the quality & accuracy of estimating process and tools, and of some key project estimates
- • Participate in hand over meeting with Project management team after award.
- Maintains databases within estimating software & tools
IN OFFICE POSITION LOCATED IN UXBRIDGE Knowledge & Skills
- Electrical construction - estimating experience an asset
- Construction job site experience is an asset
- Proficient with Estimating software, tools and MS Excel
- Trimble Experience is an asset
- Very good English written and communication skills required
- Strong client focus, proactive, and a desire to achieve results
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to quality, accuracy and details
- Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
This is a regular, full time position with a hourly range of $30.48 - $38.10 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
