We are a small commercial lighting company seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting electrical lighting design, maintenance, and troubleshooting across various projects within manufacturing, commercial, and industrial environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills while collaborating with project managers to deliver visually appealing and energy saving results.
This position would be ideal for a new graduate who is eager to learn the lighting business.
Responsibilities
- Complete site audits with support
- Preparation of client proposals (pricing, incentive amounts, and picture selection)
- Creation of sensor maps using Canva
- Sensor programming at project sites
- Photometric simulation: Model lighting designs in AGi32 to present proposed lighting solutions
- Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Canva, Asana and AGi32 to track projects, prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Project development tasks including updating client portals with compliance documentation and Asana updates
- Provide E-Biz/IESO incentive application support involving data entry
- Complete metering studies: monitor energy output and prepare a report
- Provide support tasks to project managers as required
- Complete returns documentation (RMAs) and return parts as needed
- Occasional sales opportunities available (if applicant is interested)
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members through strong presentation skills and clear documentation
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Technician's diploma, bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with Canva and AGi32 would be beneficial
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Solid analysis skills combined with math proficiency to interpret technical data accurately.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed.
