We are looking for motivated individuals who dream of learning the art of Japanese cuisine—whether you aspire to open your own restaurant one day or are looking for a strong foundation in culinary arts. Our Head Chef is ready to mentor and teach the fundamentals of sushi-making and kitchen prep to the right candidate.

Note : Following a successful training round with our previous trainee, we are excited to expand our team again! Candidates will start with a part-time schedule during a 3-month probation period. Based on your learning progress, adaptability, and performance, this position will transition into a Full-Time role.

[Role & Responsibilities]

- Kitchen Prep: Assist with basic food preparation for both the sushi bar and hot kitchen stations.
- Sushi Assembly & Plating: Learn basic roll making (starting with California rolls). Assist sushi chefs with final roll decoration, sauce drizzling, and packaging for both dine-in and takeout orders.
- Kitchen Support: Act as a versatile kitchen assistant, supporting both sushi and hot kitchen staff during peak rushes.
- Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain station cleanliness and assist with dishwashing and sanitizing equipment to meet hygiene standards.

[Requirements]

- Experience:



No prior sushi experience required! Basic commercial kitchen experience is a plus, but passion, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are our top priorities.
- Mindset & Punctuality: Punctuality is our #1 priority. We value reliability, a positive attitude, and a robust work ethic. We love working with team members who are proactive, eager to ask questions, and passionate about their work.
- Communication & Work Culture:
- Functional English communication skills are required.
- Our kitchen team is multicultural with many non-native English speakers who are friendly and welcoming! We appreciate candidates with an open mind and patience regarding cultural/language nuances.
- Fluency in Korean is a welcome bonus!
- Certifications & Education: Valid FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset.
- Legal Work Status: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Open Work Permit, Working Holiday, Citizen, PR, etc.).
- Commitment: Looking for someone ready to commit to part-time training and transition into a full-time, reliable long-term team member.
