Caregiver – Seniors & Elderly Support

Luxcare is looking for caring and dedicated Caregivers / Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to join our team and provide essential support to seniors and elderly clients in the Victoria, BC area.

We are currently hiring Evening / Night / Overnight Caregivers for shifts falling between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM, with opportunities to start ASAP.

Important Requirements Before Applying

- This is an in-person caregiving role serving clients in Victoria, BC, Canada.
- Applicants must currently reside in Victoria, BC, Canada, or be able to reliably work in the Victoria area.
- We will not process applications from individuals who are currently located outside Canada.
- Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Canada. Luxcare does not provide immigration sponsorship or immigration-related documentation, including job offer letters for Permanent Residency applications.
- Evening / night / overnight availability between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM is required.
- This role requires someone reliable, attentive, and comfortable providing evening, night, and overnight care and support.

About the Role This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful connections with seniors while helping them feel protected, comfortable, and supported in their own homes.

As an evening, night, or overnight caregiver, you may provide companionship, assistance with daily activities, mobility support, medication reminders, and monitoring throughout the evening and overnight hours.

Depending on the client’s needs, caregivers may also be required to get up during the night approximately 3–4 times to assist the client.

What You’ll Do

- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal support
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist clients with their evening and bedtime routines
- Provide support throughout the night based on the client’s individual needs
- Get up during the night, potentially 3–4 times, to assist the client as required
- Support clients with mobility and transfers as required
- Provide medication reminders and observe and report changes in clients’ health and well-being
- Provide overnight monitoring and support to help maintain client safety and comfort
- Respond appropriately to clients’ needs throughout the evening and overnight shift
- Provide compassionate support for clients living with dementia or requiring hospice care
- Perform light housekeeping duties and help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment
- Follow each client’s Care Plan and communicate important updates to the Care Team

What You Bring

- Minimum of 2–3 years of caregiving experience required
- Experience supporting seniors and elderly clients is required
- Health Care Assistant (HCA) certification is an asset
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry in good standing is an asset
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification
- Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain one
- Food Safe Certification is an asset
- WHMIS Certification is an asset
- Availability for evening, night, and overnight shifts between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM
- Compassion, patience, reliability,



and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain attentive and responsive throughout evening and overnight shifts
- Comfortable assisting clients during the night based on their individual care needs
