The Opportunity The Alberta SPCA is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative, operational, and project support to the Executive Director. This role is responsible for coordinating executive and board activities, supporting organizational projects and change initiatives, managing meeting and governance processes, and maintaining critical operational and reporting systems.

The Executive

Assistant plays a key role in supporting cross-department collaboration, organizational compliance, data integrity, and productive day-to-day operations while handling confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

This position will be in-office, based out of our Edmonton head office, located at 17904 118 Ave NW. This is a full-time role 37.5 hours per week , within the hours of 8:30 – 4:30, Monday – Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours for Board meetings.

What You’ll Do

- Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel, and key organizational deadlines.
- Prepare executive and Board meeting agendas, briefing packages, minutes, and track follow-up action items.




- Coordinate Board and committee administration, including governance documentation, the Annual General Meeting, and annual reporting.
- Track strategic plan initiatives, organizational goals, and executive projects to help ensure priorities stay on schedule.
- Prepare and coordinate grant, statistical, compliance, and Government of Alberta reporting.
- Support stakeholder communications and facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Assist with audit readiness, risk management, and other governance and operational compliance activities.
- Act as the primary administrative contact for Board members, responding to routine inquiries and escalating sensitive or strategic matters to the Executive Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

- 3+ years of progressive experience in executive or senior-level administrative support, with experience managing priorities for senior leaders.
- Experience working with a Board of Directors is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Self-directed in their work, with a capacity to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- High level of personal integrity and confidentiality.

Compensation & benefits: $70,000-75,000 per year. Group Benefit Plan, Health & Wellness Spending Account, Retirement Pension Plan and RRSP company matching. Three weeks of vacation to start, 15 sick days, and 5-family responsibility days.
