Smart Home Designs Niagara is a innovative company building since 2022 and offering a unique method of building with Steel Insulated Panel construction for both residential and commercial structure. As a licensed builder with the Home Construction Regulatory Authority, we are on the cusp of a new stage of growth and are looking for great people who can help us achieve our goals. We are currently recruiting an Experienced Skilled Construction Labourer who will help us to fulfill our objective to build innovative housing units and structures and grow our business to meet the housing needs of our community.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Working closely with the Project and Construction Manager and on-site crew, this role will be pivotal in helping to complete and deliver quality housing units and building structures to our customers. Responsibilities:

· Ready the construction site each day for the current project and tasks by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.

· Apply new project instructions for each job and make adjustments as directed by the supervisor.

· Wear clean safety equipment, such as ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, helmets and boots that are in good repair.

· Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty.

· Maintain a brisk and productive pace of activities to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints.

· Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized and stored in an orderly fashion after each use.

· Provide assistance to other team members on various tasks if your duties are completed ahead of schedule.

Experience:





· Finished carpentry experience is a requirement.

· General construction experience.

· Metal work experience.

· General renovations (residential and/or commercial).

· Working with and handling a wide range of building materials.

· Experience with new home construction an asset.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Familiarity with tools such as power drills, hammer, saws, etc.

· Ability to perform repetitive actions using your hands, arms, wrists, fingers, legs or other body parts.

· General knowledge of construction operations and procedures.

· Willingness and drive to problem-solve when needed and think creatively.

· Ability to work well with a team of subcontractors and a supervisor.

· Ability to work independently.

· Quick to understand and interpret construction drawings.

· A team player with a positive attitude.

Other Expectations:

· Occasional travel and out-of-town work will be required. A company vehicle is provided.

· Regular work week is 44 hours per week. Overtime is expected when required.

· Must have exceptional comprehension and written/verbal skills in English.

· Permanent resident of Canada or Valid Canadian work permit

· Appropriate construction boots and helmet

Education:

· Post-Secondary, Skilled Trades Education preferred

Compensation:

· Hourly wage starting at $25-30/hour, assessed on experience.

· Tools will be provided by Smart Home Designs Niagara.

· Health and Safety and Equipment training.

Offices are located in Jordan Station, Ontario.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
