We are currently seeking a Facility Team Lead to join our growing team and play a key role in leading day-to-day operations, supporting employees, and fostering a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.

Position Summary:

The Facility Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily facility operations while actively participating in warehouse and processing activities. This position combines team leadership, shipping and receiving, material handling, counterbalance forklift and heavy equipment operation, inventory control, and preventative maintenance.

The Facility Team

Lead provides guidance and support to employees, leads pre-shift toolbox talks, promotes a strong safety culture, supports equipment reliability, and helps drive operational success by ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while mentoring and developing team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Coordination

- Lead and facilitate pre-shift toolbox talks, safety meetings, and operational briefings to reinforce safe work practices and communicate priorities.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, coaching, and support to team members.
- Lead by example through active participation in facility operations.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and workflow to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support employee onboarding, training, and development.
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and safety expectations through Toolbox talks.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and work quality, escalating operational concerns as required.
- Conduct shift meetings and act as the operational lead in the absence of general management.

Warehouse Operations

- Support the Facility Supervisor in overseeing the safe and efficient movement, storage, loading, unloading, and handling of materials.
- Ensure recyclable materials, commodities, and finished products are properly organized, stored, and managed.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.




- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies as required.

Shipping & Receiving

- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including verifying inbound shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, preparing outbound shipments accurately and efficiently, and completing required documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records, including reporting damaged, missing, or discrepant materials.
- Coordinate carrier pickups and deliveries to support efficient operations.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.

Baler & Heavy Equipment Operations

- Safely operate and monitor balers and other heavy processing equipment to meet production and quality standards.
- Inspect materials prior to processing and tie, label, and prepare finished bales for shipment.
- Perform routine inspections, operator maintenance, and preventative maintenance, reporting maintenance requirements and coordinating repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas.
- Follow all lockout/tagout procedures and equipment safety requirements.

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Champion a strong safety culture by leading toolbox talks, promoting hazard identification, reporting unsafe conditions, and reinforcing safe work practices through employee engagement.
- Conduct workplace inspections, identify potential hazards, complete required safety documentation, and participate in incident investigations as required.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, WHMIS requirements, safe handling procedures, and PPE standards.

Administrative Responsibilities

- Complete operational paperwork, electronic documentation, daily inspections, and required records for production, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits, and prepare reports and operational updates for management.
- Complete daily inspections in Megamation and SiteDocs as required.

Qualifications

- 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, recycling, or logistics environment.




- High school diploma or equivalent; previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience performing basic equipment and machinery maintenance, including tasks such as changing tires and oil, performing inspections and completing preventative maintenance activities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and maintaining industrial processing equipment, including balers and related heavy machinery.
- Valid forklift certification, or the ability to obtain certification, with extensive experience operating counterbalance forklifts in a fast-paced industrial or warehouse environment.
- Strong safety background with a proven commitment to Occupational Health & Safety programs, including experience leading safety initiatives, conducting toolbox talks, and reinforcing safe work practices and safety standards among team members.
- Working knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, WHMIS requirements, and hazard identification processes.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SiteDocs, and Megamation or equivalent systems.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while effectively communicating with employees, management, suppliers, and customers.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying weather and warehouse conditions.
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Physical ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.

Working Conditions: This is a working leadership position requiring approximately 80-90% operational duties and 10-20% leadership and administrative responsibilities.
