Floor Care Attendant for Commercial Building

We are currently hiring two Common Area Cleaning Attendants to join our building operations team and assist with ongoing cleaning and maintenance of large commercial heritage building complex.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the building’s common areas and washrooms. The primary focus of the position will be on floor cleaning including, but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping.

Position Details:

Number of Positions: 2

Position: Common Area Floor Care Attendant

Primary Focus: Floor mopping throughout commercial building complex. Must be comfortable working independently and completing repetitive physical cleaning tasks throughout workday

Specific cleaning assignments and areas of responsibility will be determined based on the operational needs of the property and may include dedicated washroom cleaning or general common area floor cleaning

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

- Mopping and maintaining common area floors throughout the building complex
- Cleaning and maintaining high-traffic areas including entrances, lobbies, corridors, elevator areas,



stairwells and other common areas
- Cleaning and maintaining common area washroom floors
- Responding to spills and areas requiring additional cleaning
- Ensuring floors are left clean and secure for building occupants and visitors
- Placing and removing wet floor signage as required
- Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies
- Reporting damaged flooring, leaks, spills or other maintenance concerns to Supervisor
- Follow established cleaning procedures and workplace health and safety requirements
- Performs other related duties as required and as assigned

- Supports positive morale, teamwork and continuous improvement, and is seen to be a positive influence on the maintenance team
- Demonstrates consistent initiative and is proactive in looking after responsibilities
- Notices items that require our attention and reports such to the Building Manager

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
