Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Foot Care Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized foot care services to diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with chronic conditions including diabetes. Your expertise will help improve mobility, prevent complications, and enhance overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive foot assessments to identify issues such as infections, wounds, deformities, and circulation problems.
- Deliver specialized foot care treatments including trimming, callus removal, nail care, and wart treatment, in accordance with best practices.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper foot hygiene, injury prevention, and management of chronic conditions like diabetes or vascular disease.
- Collaborate with pedorthist, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided, patient progress notes, and treatment outcomes using electronic health record systems.
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and safety protocols during all procedures.

Qualifications





- Valid nursing license with current registration in your jurisdiction.
- Proven experience as an Advanced footcare nurse with a focus on foot or wound care preferred.
- Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, acute care settings, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and case management principles.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in patient care across diverse populations including seniors, pediatric patients, dementia care residents, hospice patients, and those requiring assisted living support.
- Additional experience in phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, pain management strategies, or laboratory work is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
