TekRek has partnered with a Toronto-based, technology company building AI-powered software for the built environment industry. The company recently went through a restructuring and is now bootstrapped and self-funded. A key near-term priority is standing up SOC 2 compliance.
As a Fractional CTO, you will:
- Review and security-assess the existing platform architecture before making changes
- Rebuild core platform components from scratch on a new stack instance, fully detached from the prior codebase for IP separation purposes
- Tie together and clean up the underlying databases
- Set up SOC 2 compliance infrastructure and supporting tooling for a newly formed entity
- Ship well-documented, low-dependency code that does not create reliance on any single developer
Job Requirements
- Experience with React, Node, TypeScript and MongoDB
- Prior experience building software products from scratch, not just maintaining existing systems
- Direct experience setting up SOC 2 compliance
- Comfortable and effective working with AI-assisted development tools
- Available part-time, an estimated 2-3 days per week initially, scaling down over time
