Lead diabetes education initiatives with the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council in Port Alberni. This full time term role invites a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician to empower community health. The NTC Nursing Services program offers a two-year term position for a dedicated Diabetes Leader.
Your responsibilities will involve traveling to various remote communities, delivering culturally sensitive diabetes education and support. You'll contribute to the well-being of Nuu-chah-nulth community members through a strengths-based, patient-centric approach in your care delivery. Key Responsibilities:
- Educate groups on diabetes management and wellness
- Advocate for clients regarding diabetes care
- Develop and monitor diabetes education resources
- Assess and implement nutritional care plans
- Collaborate with professionals to enhance community programs Requirements:
- Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Dietetics
- At least three years’ experience in primary care
- Current registration with BCCNM or CHCPBC
- Current registration as a Registered Dietitian is an advantage
- Valid BC Driver’s License and vehicle access required Elevate diabetes care and education within the Nuu-chah-nulth territory.
