Position Overview:

This position is responsible for managing the day to day General Accounting functions with a focus on Accounts Payable and Reporting transactions for the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices
- Issue payment cheques in CDN or USD funds
- Calculate monthly rebates
- Maintain related party transaction schedules
- Track monthly expenses
- Process payment for suppliers with discounts
- Create new suppliers in the system
- Reply to supplier’s AP payment inquiries
- Close monthly AP/AR and ensure GL matches sub-ledger
- Prepare and process daily bank deposits
- Process wire transfers or cheque payments to customer’s account
- Call in Visa payments to bank
- Supply wire transfer information to customers
- Send out customer statements as requested
- Manage the fixed asset additions and subledger schedules
- Adherence to quality procedures to promote product safety, food safety and quality
- Take part in continuous improvement projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- University/College diploma (General Business or Accounting) combined a professional accounting designation (CPA); or working towards accounting designation.
- 3 or more years' general accounting experience, preferably in a multi divisional manufacturing environment.




- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to present professional courteous manner in all dealings both externally and internally.
- High level of proficiency with accounting software as well as Microsoft Office suite of products and in particular, Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Leads by example.
- Self-motivated. Able to work independently with minimum direction.
- Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and understand underlying principles, resolve complex issues, etc.
- Able to plan, prioritize and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Performs with a high attention to details and high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems and SAP is an asset
