GIS & OneCall Ticket Analyst- Full Time Temporary Contract- Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary Contract
Contract Term: September 2026 – October 2027
Compensation: $21.00 – $24.00/hour
Location: Fully Remote – Alberta/Mountain Time Zone preferred
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS & OneCall Ticket Analyst to join our team on a 1-year temporary contract providing maternity leave coverage.
Please note: This is a GIS-based utility and pipeline data position — it is not an IT help desk, IT ticketing, or software support role.
In this role, you will review incoming requests for ground disturbance, research geographic and pipeline data, assess the relationship between proposed work areas and pipeline infrastructure, and prepare accurate OneCall ticket packages for clients, locators, and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with geographic information, interpreting maps and data from multiple sources, communicating with a variety of stakeholders, and making careful, detail-oriented decisions in a time-sensitive environment.
This is a fully remote position , with candidates located in Alberta or within the Mountain Time Zone preferred .
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process OneCall tickets (requests to dig)
from OneCall organizations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
- Review and screen each ticket by researching client pipeline and geographic data.
- Use mapping and spatial information to assess the proposed work area in relation to client pipeline infrastructure.
- Communicate with ground disturbers to clarify the location and scope of proposed work and determine whether pipeline locates may be required.
- Prepare accurate OneCall ticket packages, including cover sheets, ticket text, and maps.
- Distribute completed ticket packages to clients, locators, and other stakeholders.
- Respond professionally to inquiries from clients, ground disturbers, OneCall organizations, and locators.
- Monitor daily clearance and audit reports to ensure tickets are received, processed, and distributed within required service levels.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client contact information and related records.
- Participate in an emergency response rotation, including weekends, for approximately one week per month, coordinated with the Team Lead.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of post-secondary education. A background in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Land Administration, Environmental Science, or another related field is preferred.
- Experience working with GIS, mapping, spatial data, or geographic information is strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of Oil and Gas would be an asset
- Familiarity with Dominion Land Survey (DLS) and National Topographic System (NTS) survey systems; training can be provided to successful candidates.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as Directive 017, Alberta Pipeline Act and Rules, would be considered an asset
- Basic understanding of the OneCall organizations, or ground disturbance would be an asset
- Experience working in a call center is advantageous
- Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision in a fully remote environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Exceptional Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing OneCall tickets, researching pipeline and geographic data, and preparing ticket packages. The ability to identify discrepancies, verify information, and ensure all details are accurate is essential to the role.
- Professional communication etiquette in email and telephone communications

- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast paced environment
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite and products
What Makes Someone Sucessful in This Role: The most important quality for this position is exceptional attention to detail . The information we process directly supports ground disturbance activities around pipeline infrastructure, so accuracy matters.
You should enjoy working with maps, geographic information, and data and be comfortable investigating information to determine how different pieces fit together. You should also be able to communicate clearly with clients and other stakeholders and make sound decisions when information is incomplete or requires clarification.
You will receive training on our specific systems, processes, and industry requirements. You do not need previous OneCall experience to be successful in the role if you have strong GIS/spatial data skills and the ability to learn.
