Position Summary
The Greenhouse Supervisor is the primary floor leader for Richmond Greenhouse.
Collaborating with the Manager of Greenhouse Operations, the supervisor does the physical execution, plant maintenance, and supervision of the seasonal retail production crew at St Peter’s.
Core Responsibilities
- Floor Leadership: Supervise, pace, and work alongside the St. Peter’s seasonal crew during the high-volume spring rush (transplanting, spacing, retail stocking)
- Plant Maintenance: Execute daily watering, fertilizing, and climate management schedules across the 9 houses as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Quality Control: Continuously monitor plant health, acting as the first line of defense to report pests, disease, or mechanical failures (like heating and oil furnace issues).
- Retail Support: Ensure the retail floor is heavily stocked, properly tagged, and visually maintained.
- Facility Transitions: Assist with fall winterization, deep cleaning, and basic mechanical troubleshooting at the St. Peter’s site.
- Support operations of the Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory tracking system, ensuring strict adherence to tagging and barcode protocols by all retail staQ
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of physical greenhouse, farming, or landscaping experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a seasonal physical labor crew
- Willingness to execute tasks precisely as outlined in the operational plans.
- Basic digital literacy, ability to quickly learn new POS/Inventory software
- Valid Driver’s License
- Criminal record check and child abuse registry
- Experience working within First Nations communities considered an asset
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, education/training in horticulture/business considered an asset, however, experience is prioritized.
- Note this is a highly physical role, requiring prolonged standing, high heat exposure, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Working conditions
- Primarily performed in the greenhouse and retail environment at the St Peters location
- Harmful of Dangerous materials/activities/machinery: Exposure to varying temperatures, high humidity, agriculture tools, soil, fertilizers, etc.
- Highly physical labour required, including prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 lbs. Applicants must be able to maintain good health.
- Extended hours and weekend work required during peak spring retail season

Wages: Starting at $25/hour
