HEAD COACH, COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Bancroft, Ontario | Opening September 2026

Kawartha Gymnastics is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Coach to help lead and build the competitive gymnastics program at KG North, our new location in Bancroft, Ontario.

Kawartha Gymnastics is an established not-for-profit gymnastics organization with our main location in Peterborough. As the inaugural Head Coach of the KG North Competitive Program, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to help shape the culture, athlete experience and long-term success of a growing competitive program while being supported by the broader Kawartha Gymnastics leadership and coaching team.

The Role

This is a hands-on coaching and program leadership position for someone who brings strong technical gymnastics knowledge, professionalism and a genuine commitment to athlete development. The Head Coach will coach competitive athletes, implement quality programming and progressions, support yearly training planning and competition preparation, and help establish a positive, safe and consistent training environment at KG North.

Key Responsibilities

· Coach competitive athletes and deliver safe, progressive, technically sound programming appropriate to each athlete's level.

· Support athlete development through quality skill progressions, goal setting, Yearly Training Plans and competition preparation.

· Create a positive, supportive and growth-minded environment focused on confidence, performance and solid technical execution.





· Maintain current knowledge of applicable Gymnastics Ontario technical regulations, coaching guidelines and equipment requirements.

· Attend competitions as required and provide professional, athlete-focused coaching throughout competition sessions.

· Work collaboratively with Kawartha Gymnastics' Director of Operations, WAG/MAG program leadership and coaching team to support consistent programming across the organization.

· Communicate professionally with athletes, parents and staff and help build strong relationships within the KG North community.

· Uphold all Kawartha Gymnastics and Gymnastics Ontario policies, safety standards and coaching expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

· Competitive gymnastics coaching experience with strong technical knowledge of artistic gymnastics, athlete development and skill progression.

· NCCP training/certification appropriate to the athletes and levels being coached; Competition 1 Trained or higher is required.

· Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

· Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check.

· Required Safe Sport and professional development training, including Making Ethical Decisions,



Respect in Sport and other applicable Gymnastics Ontario/Gymnastics Canada requirements.

· Ability to safely spot and support athletes and remain physically active throughout training sessions.

Position Details & What We Offer

· Permanent position with an hourly range of 25-35 hrs./week based at KG North, 29556 Hwy 28 South, Bancroft, Ontario.

· Competitive compensation based on qualifications, coaching experience and certification level.

· Monthly cell phone allowance

· 100% reimbursement for approved Gymnastics Ontario coaching education and required First Aid/CPR certification.

· Complimentary recreational and competitive training fees and drop-ins for the employee and immediate family members, subject to program terms.

· Opportunity to help build a competitive program from the ground up while receiving support from an established gymnastics organization and experienced leadership team.

· $3,000 Relocation bonus available for candidates interested in relocating to Bancroft for the position.
