Hamilton, Ontario | Part-Time to Start | Growth Prospect

North Star Strong (NSS) is looking for an experienced Yoga and/or Pilates professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to build and lead a new Yoga & Pilates division from the ground up.

This is not a traditional instructor position.

You’ll join the NSS leadership team with the opportunity to shape an entirely new division - its programming, pricing, schedule, membership, community and, ultimately, its team.

Today, the division starts at zero. The opportunity is to build it into something significant.

As the division grows, we want this role to grow with it — from hands-on instructor and builder to Division Head and senior leader within a growing Hamilton fitness brand.

What You'll Own

Working alongside NSS leadership, you'll take responsibility for building and growing the division, including:

- Developing, launching and continuously improving Yoga and Pilates programming
- Establishing pricing, membership structures and scheduling based on demand and performance
- Generating leads, converting prospects and building recurring membership
- Teaching classes during the initial growth stage
- Owning the member experience, including relationships, feedback and retention
- Driving class utilization, revenue growth and overall division performance
- Participating directly in marketing, promotions, partnerships and local business development
- Establishing programming, service and safety standards for the division
- Managing scheduling, capacity and division operations efficiently
- Recruiting, developing and mentoring additional instructors as demand grows
- Ultimately, leading the Yoga & Pilates team and taking accountability for the continued growth and performance of the division

What Success Looks Like Build: Launch the offering, establish programming, pricing and scheduling, and acquire the first members.

Grow: Build recurring membership, increase class utilization and retention,



expand the schedule and create sustainable revenue.

Lead: Build and mentor a team of instructors, achieve sustainable profitability and transition from primarily delivering the program to leading the division.

Who We're Looking For

You’re an excellent instructor - but you want to do more than teach someone else's classes.

You bring

- Professional Yoga and/or Pilates certification and teaching experience
- Strong programming knowledge and a commitment to secure, high-quality instruction
- Excellent communication and member relationship skills
- Confidence with sales and prospective-member conversations
- An understanding of marketing, community building and business development
- Strong organization, time management and self-direction
- Initiative and the ability to identify what needs to be done without constant direction
- Leadership ability and an interest in developing, mentoring and managing a team
- An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine excitement about building something from zero

Experience in sales, marketing, leadership or fitness-business operations is a robust asset. Most importantly, you need the capacity and commitment to actively build this division. This is not intended as a passive side project or occasional teaching opportunity.

The Opportunity - And the Reality

NSS does not currently have an established Yoga & Pilates division. That means this position begins part-time, without guaranteed full-time hours.

The opportunity is to help create the demand, membership and revenue that allow both the division and your position within it to grow.

Compensation will recognize two distinct contributions:

Teaching:



Compensation for classes you personally deliver.

Growth & Leadership: Additional earning potential tied to the growth and performance of the division. As the division becomes established and you demonstrate your ability to successfully build, lead and contribute to the broader growth of NSS, there is an opportunity for your role to expand beyond division leadership. This may include greater involvement in company-level strategy and decision-making, with increased responsibility and compensation that reflects your contribution and leadership within the business.

The specific structure and growth pathway will be discussed openly with shortlisted candidates.
