THE OPPORTUNITY





We're looking for experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Technicians with strong on-road and off-road capabilities who take pride in their workmanship and are confident diagnosing and repairing complex equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a local technician—or someone looking to make Lac La Biche home—who wants the variety and technical challenge of heavy industry without having to spend their career constantly travelling away.

You'll work on a diverse range of equipment and have the chance to perform everything from preventative maintenance and diagnostics to major mechanical repairs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Diagnose, service and repair on-road commercial vehicles and off-road heavy equipment
- Perform repairs both in-shop and in the field
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
- Use advanced diagnostic software and tooling to accurately identify faults
- Complete major and minor diesel engine repairs
- Diagnose and repair drivetrains, differentials and PTO systems
- Repair steering, suspension and braking systems
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pumps and components
- Diagnose fuel, exhaust and emissions systems
- Service cooling and HVAC/A/C systems
- Diagnose electrical and engine-control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Accurately complete work orders, technician notes and time tracking
- Maintain TOP GUN HD's high standards for safety and workmanship
- Keep current with changing equipment technology, diagnostic systems and manufacturer requirements

WHAT YOU BRING
- Journeyman On-Road Heavy Duty Technician certification (asset)
- Journeyman Off-Road Heavy Duty Technician certification (asset)
- Strong experience with heavy trucks and/or large off-road equipment
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or higher
- Acceptable driver's abstract
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail

Experience in a dealership, fleet, mining, oilfield or heavy-equipment environment is considered a strong asset. SAFETY & SITE REQUIREMENTS

Depending on work location and customer requirements, technicians may be required to hold or obtain:

- H2S
- First Aid
- CSO / CSTS
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space
- Mask Fit Testing
- Audiometric Testing
- Drug & Alcohol Testing/Clearance

Compensation will be based on the successful candidate's experience, qualifications and demonstrated skill level.
