In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of our horses through attentive care, proper handling, and maintenance of their environment. This position offers an exciting prospect to work closely with horses in a lively, outdoor setting while developing your skills in animal care and farm operations.

Duties

- Feed, water, and groom horses daily, ensuring their health and cleanliness are maintained to the highest standards
- Assist with horse training and exercise routines to promote physical fitness and behavioral well-being
- Perform routine cleaning of stables, paddocks, and riding areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Use farm machinery and equipment safely for tasks such as mucking out stalls, moving feed, or maintaining fencing
- Conduct regular inspections of the horses’ living spaces to identify any signs of illness or injury, reporting issues promptly
- Handle horses safely during grooming, tacking, or veterinary procedures with proper techniques and mechanical knowledge
- Assist with the maintenance of farm machinery and tools necessary for daily operations, ensuring they are in good working order




- Engage in heavy lifting tasks such as moving feed bags or equipment safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques
- Feed and water poultry
- Care for CKC golden retrievers and puppies! (When we have a litter)

Qualifications

- Prior experience or strong interest in animal care, particularly with horses or farm animals is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for operating farm machinery and troubleshooting basic equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily responsibilities
- Familiarity with farm machinery such as tractors, feed dispensers, or grooming tools is a plus
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shifts in an outdoor environment
- Excellent attention to detail for monitoring horse health and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and report concerns clearly
