Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Intermediate Instrumentation Technologist/Engineer.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Instrument Lead in producing accurate, high-quality project deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting project deadlines and objectives.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior instrumentation technologists.




- Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team while independently managing assigned instrumentation engineering and design activities through various stages of a project.
- Interpret and apply project specifications and requirements to instrument selection and design.
- Provide input to project scheduling, instrumentation philosophies, P&ID; development, instrument document quality checks, and instrument procurement activities, including technical evaluations.
- Advance instrumentation deliverables to completion, including instrument calculations and selection of control valves, flow meters, level transmitters, pressure safety valves, and other instrumentation.
- Prepare and maintain instrument datasheets, instrument indexes, and construction or engineering work packages.
- Provide instrumentation support during Design Reviews and incorporate feedback into project deliverables.
- Assist with field construction support, including responding to RFIs, as well as commissioning and start-up activities.
- Approach tasks with a solution-driven mindset and a commitment to open communication.

Requirements

- A 2-year Technologist diploma in Industrial Instrumentation from an accredited college or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in the discipline of Instrumentation, with relevant project experience in an engineering or EPC environment.
- Familiarity with upstream oil and gas processes is considered an asset.




- SmartPlant Instrumentation (InTools) user training or experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Instrumentation sizing and selection software.
- Field experience or Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic experience is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and project team members at various levels.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
- Willingness to travel and perform site work as required.
