Position Description
Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Junior Instrumentation Technologist/Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to instrument engineering teams front end engineering (FEED) through detailed design.
- Create data sheets, instrument index, and size instruments in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Perform sizing calculations for flow meters and valves.
- Prepare material requisitions and perform quality assurance evaluations of material requisitions.
- Ability to use SmartPlant Instrumentation to produce Instrument deliverables:
- - Instrument Database
- Instrument Datasheets
- Instrument Index
- Create Instrument Wiring Reports and Instrument Loop Drawings.
- Selection and sizing of instrumentation for complex processing equipment adhering to complex customer specifications.
- Review instrument installations to provide assistance in model review, work packages, and construction support.
- Positive and productive attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the team’s productivity and project deliverables.
- Willingness to learn from and accept mentorship from senior instrumentation and multi-discipline design team members.
- Solution-driven mindset with a commitment to open communication and asking questions when needed
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of an integrated project team while independently managing assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to manage time and workload efficiently to meet deadlines and project objectives.
- Maintain accurate, well-organized, and up-to-date work files and documentation.
Requirements
- A 2-year Technologist diploma in Industrial Instrumentation from an accredited college or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Basic understanding of P&ID;’s, Smart Plant Instrumentation and Instrument data sheets.
- Previous experience in oilfield instrumentation, instrumentation apprenticeship or as a Journeyman Instrument Mechanic is considered an asset, but is not requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, processes, and project requirements.
- Consistently professional and respectful approach when working with colleagues, clients, and project team members.
