$22 to $26 per hour, plus tips

Typical total earnings of approximately $25 to $31 per hour The Greek Kouzina Express is hiring an experienced Lead Cook for our Westsyde restaurant.

We are a locally owned and family operated restaurant proudly continuing more than 50 years of Greek family tradition in Kamloops. We are looking for a dependable kitchen professional who takes pride in quality, consistency and doing things properly.

POSITION DETAILS

- Permanent, full time, year round position
- 35 to 40 hours per week
- Base wage of $22 to $26 per hour, based on experience and leadership ability
- Tips typically add approximately $3 to $5 per hour but are not guaranteed
- Typical shifts are 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Mostly consistent weekly schedule
- Two consecutive days off
- Five scheduled shifts across the week
- Weekend availability is required
- Primarily based at our Westsyde restaurant
- Start as soon as possible

YOUR ROLE As Lead Cook, you will work directly with ownership to lead the kitchen during service, support the team and ensure every meal meets our standards.

You will have the authority to direct kitchen staff during your shifts and will work closely with ownership to improve kitchen systems, training and daily operations.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading and supporting the kitchen team during service
- Preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, portions and presentation standards
- Training, guiding and directing kitchen team members
- Organizing and completing daily prep lists
- Monitoring food quality, consistency and portion control
- Assisting with inventory management and ordering
- Completing opening and closing responsibilities




- Maintaining high food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards
- Communicating clearly with ownership and team members
- Addressing food quality concerns and helping ensure guest satisfaction
- Occasionally assisting with catering or food truck operations when required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Minimum four years of professional kitchen experience
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred
- Strong cooking, organization and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized and productive during busy service
- Dependable attendance and professional communication
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and food quality
- Confidence providing direction and leading by example
- A team focused attitude and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed

Formal culinary education is an asset but is not required for candidates with strong practical kitchen experience.
