Role Description The Line Cook role at Riley's Pub is a part-time, on-site position located in Oshawa, ON. In this role, the Line Cook prepares and cooks menu items to specification, ensuring consistent portioning, presentation, and quality. Daily tasks include setting up and stocking stations, performing basic food preparation, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

The Line

Cook follows food safety and sanitation standards, coordinates timing with other kitchen staff during service, and assists with inventory rotation and minimizing food waste.



This role works closely with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to support smooth service during peak hours.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role in a restaurant or pub setting.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, kitchen equipment operation, and food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tickets, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
- Solid teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, with a positive, professional attitude toward guests and colleagues.
- Capability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; reliable transportation to the Oshawa, ON location.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an asset but not required; enthusiasm for learning and improving kitchen skills is highly valued.
