As our Maintenance Worker, you will play an significant role in helping to keep our property clean, safe, and well maintained for all residents.

Position Details

- Position: Part-Time Maintenance Worker
- Hours: Approximately 12 hours per week (schedule to be determined by mutual agreement with the Property Manager).
- Additional Hours: Additional paid hours may be available by mutual agreement for larger maintenance projects, such as stairwell painting or other common- area maintenance.
- Compensation: $27.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
- Reports to: Property Manager

Responsibilities The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general upkeep of the Co-operative's buildings and common areas, including:

- Performing preventative, routine, and seasonal maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, inspecting smoke detectors, carrying out minor plumbing and electrical repairs within the scope of the position, and completing seasonal tasks such as turning exterior water sources on and off and other recurring seasonal maintenance.
- Responding to maintenance requests assigned by the Property Manager in accordance with the Co-operative's maintenance priorities.
- Advising the Property Manager when specialized trades or contractors are required.




- Cleaning and maintaining interior and exterior common areas.
- Conducting regular inspections of common areas and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Assisting with move-in and move-out inspections and coordinating access with the Property Manager.
- Helping ensure building entrances, exits, and mechanical rooms remain secure while on duty.
- Responding appropriately to maintenance-related emergencies during scheduled working hours.
- Assisting with fire safety inspections and ensuring emergency exits remain unobstructed.
- Maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Working professionally and respectfully with residents, contractors, visitors, and the Property Manager.
- Performing other maintenance-related duties as reasonably assigned by the Property Manager.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have:

- Experience in general building, facilities, or property maintenance.
- Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A friendly, respectful, and qualified approach when interacting with residents.
- The physical ability to perform maintenance and housekeeping duties, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
