Purpose of this Position:
Working under the direction of the Maintenance Senior Manager, the Property Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of property management and maintenance services coordination in an assigned property or groups of properties. The company leadership works closely with the Property Maintenance Technician and the Senior Maintenance Manager to ensure that the day-to-day tenant relations, client service delivery and maintenance functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and all relevant legislation.
Major Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for fulfilling our client’s goals and objectives through efficient and effective maintenance under the direction of the Maintenance Senior Manager.
The main responsibilities for the Property Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Complete all maintenance requests issued in a timely manner
- Maintains accurate and complete maintenance service and repair orders
- Ensure vacant units are prepared for rent in a timely manner
- Work within budget limits established
- Maintain building inventory for cost effective operations
- Implement the Preventive Maintenance Plan
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Monitor and maintain all building systems
- Physically inspects, identifies, and corrects unsafe conditions in and around property
- Maintains grounds in a neat and orderly manner (landscaping, laundry rooms,
refuse areas, etc…)
- Ensure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, Province and Federal guidelines
- Troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance and/or repair on the following items: Plumbing, HVAC, Flooring, Roofing, Lighting, Smoke Alarms, Appliances, Water Systems, Interior and Exterior Structures (stairs, gates, fences, railings, walls, doors, windows, cabinets, etc…)
- Maintains positive resident, customer relations/service attitude
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and education:
- Property Management Maintenance of two (2) years or more
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of the Building Code, Fire Code, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario
- Computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Technical training preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Knowledge in a variety of trade areas common to the field of building maintenance
- Knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Carpentry, basic electrical wiring, basic plumbing and commercial kitchen equipment repair skill are required.
- Must possess valuable oral and written communication skills and blueprint reading skills.
- A reliable vehicle is required
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 per hour
