Role Description This full-time, on-site Manufacturing Engineer role is based at AWC Manufacturing’s facility in Stratford, ON.
The Manufacturing
Engineer will develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for custom steel fabrication, supporting productivity, quality, and safety objectives. Daily tasks include analyzing production workflows, designing and improving tooling and fixtures, specifying machining and fabrication methods, and collaborating with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
The role also involves reviewing drawings and specifications, supporting cost estimates, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to the introduction of new products or equipment.
The Manufacturing
Engineer will actively participate in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process standardization to ensure efficient, repeatable production.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, with the ability to design and improve fabrication workflows. Working knowledge of Solidworks 3D is required.
- Practical understanding of Machining, including tooling selection, process parameters, and optimization for custom steel components.
- Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, or heavy manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and familiarity with CAD and ERP or production planning systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams in an in office manufacturing setting.
