- Required Equipment Mastery: Proven experience operating, setting up, and troubleshooting automated Prima Power fabrication lines, including punch-shear, punch-laser, and press brake equipment.
- CAD Proficiency: Competency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent 3D/2D CAD software.
- Fabrication Knowledge: Solid understanding of sheet metal properties, bend deductions, K-factors, automated tool selection, nesting strategies, and metal fabrication safety standards.
- Manufacturing process development, optimization, and continuous improvement experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.

Core Responsibilities

- CAD/CAM Programming &
- Nesting
- Translate 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings into highly optimized machine programs.
- Program punch, shear, and fabrication paths using Prima Power NC Express CAM software.
- Program 3D press brake sequences, bend allowances, and tooling setups using Master Bend simulation software.
- Perform virtual collision checks and simulation runs to ensure first-time-right program deployment while preventing machine crashes and tooling damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized digital library of programs, tooling configurations, and standardized nesting templates.
- Hands-On Shop Floor &
- Equipment Execution
- Set up, test-run, and prove out new programs directly on CNC equipment, including punch-shear combinations and electric press brakes.
- Work directly with machine operators to resolve real-time production issues such as sheet buckling, micro-joint failures, and tooling wear.

- Troubleshoot machine setups, coordinate with maintenance teams on technical issues, and minimize equipment changeover times.
- Support machine safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements and plant standards.

Material Yield &

- OEE Optimization

- Apply advanced nesting techniques, including dynamic nesting, common-line cutting, and skeleton destruction, to maximize material utilization with a target yield of 85% or greater.
- Strategically group and kit production parts within nesting runs to balance machine cycle times and support downstream assembly requirements.
- Define equipment capabilities and manufacturing constraints for the design engineering team to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Track, analyze, and report equipment OEE performance, identify programming or setup bottlenecks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineering to reduce scrap, improve manufacturability, and standardize material usage.
- Team Coaching &
- Manufacturing Engineering Support
- Train, coach, and mentor other Manufacturing Engineers on NC Express and Master Bend software to build departmental capability and redundancy.
- Support broader Manufacturing Engineering activities, including production line balancing, workflow optimization, process improvements, and layout development.
- Mentor engineering interns on 2D drawing preparation, nesting logic, and manufacturing fundamentals.
- Provide hands-on training to cross-functional team members to ensure operational coverage on critical bottleneck equipment.
- Develop and maintain visual Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quick-reference guides for sheet metal programming and press brake setup.
