Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our innovative team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your mechanical engineering skills through hands-on involvement in system design, drafting, and manufacturing processes. You will support project teams by applying your technical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while gaining valuable industry experience.

Responsibilities

- Reading, interpreting, and developing technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Researching and following client design procedures, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Providing feedback to design engineers on client problems and needs.
- Displaying an aptitude for learning technical and legislative requirements for pressure systems and equipment.
- Providing technical customer service.
- Completing projects under general guidelines, within allotted schedules and budget and with high quality standards.
- Coordinating activities with other engineers and project team members as required.




- Inspecting project sites in order to develop new designs and assess existing equipment.
- Following internal and external quality assurance requirements.
- Providing feedback regarding the technical aspects of company/client projects to manager or project leader.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered or eligible for registration as an E.I.T. with APEGA.
- 1–2 years of engineering experience; industrial experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for drafting and modeling.
- Experience using AI tools and emerging technologies to support engineering, design, research, data analysis, documentation, or workflow efficiencies is an asset.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles and engineering concepts within manufacturing environments
- Experience with schematic development for electrical or mechanical systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
