TwinCon Enterprises Ltd. is currently seeking an Occupational First Aid Level 3 Attendant (OFA 3) to support a civil construction project located in Meziadin Junction, BC. This is a project-based position with employment anticipated for the duration of the project. Preference will be given to local candidates.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Superintendent and Health & Safety Department, the Occupational First Aid Level 3 Attendant is responsible for providing first aid services, emergency response, injury management, and health and safety support on an active civil construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements and company safety policies.
This position may also assist with safety administration, inspections, orientations, and other project support duties when first aid services are not required.
Key Responsibilities
First Aid & Emergency Response
- Provide Occupational First Aid Level 3 services in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Assess, treat, monitor, and document workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate emergency response activities as required.
- Maintain accurate first aid records, treatment logs, and incident documentation.
- Coordinate transportation and medical care for injured workers when necessary.
- Maintain first aid facilities, treatment areas, supplies, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of first aid equipment, vehicles, and emergency response equipment.
Health & Safety Support
- Assist with site safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
- Support site supervisors with safety documentation and compliance requirements.
- Assist with worker orientations and safety meetings.
- Monitor work activities and identify potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage safe work practices throughout the project.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Project Support
- Maintain daily safety and first aid records.
- Assist with tracking safety statistics, inspections, and training records.
- Support project management and supervision with administrative safety tasks as required.
- Communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and emergency services personnel.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 (OFA 3) Certification recognized in British Columbia.
- Have previous experience working as an OFA 3 Attendant on construction, industrial, mining, or heavy civil projects.
- Possess solid knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and first aid requirements.
- Have experience responding to workplace emergencies and managing injured workers.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Be comfortable working in an active civil construction environment around heavy equipment and construction operations.
- Be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment during emergency situations.
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and have reliable transportation to and from the project site.
- Have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems.
- Be willing to work extended hours and overtime as required to support project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or safety training is considered an asset.
- Previous experience on remote infrastructure, highway, utility, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Experience with incident investigations, safety inspections, and return-to-work coordination.
