On-Site Operations Manager — Horizon Drive-In

Position: On-Site Operations Manager

Company: Horizon Drive-In

Employment Type: Weekend / Event-Based

Location: Various event locations across Alberta

About the Role

Horizon Drive-In is looking for a reliable, hands-on On-Site Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee the full on-site operation of our drive-in events.

You’ll be the point person on the ground throughout the weekend — from arrival and setup through showtime, guest operations, team coordination, and final teardown. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who can stay organized, make decisions under pressure, and jump in wherever needed to keep the event running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the on-site Horizon Drive-In team throughout the event weekend
- Drive company vehicles and equipment to and from event locations
- Oversee complete event setup, including:
- Screen and technical equipment
- FM/radio broadcasting setup
- Parking areas and signage
- Guest entry and event infrastructure
- Staff areas and other site requirements
- Manage parking operations and ensure vehicles are directed efficiently and safely
- Coordinate with the technical team to ensure all equipment is properly set up and operational
- Act as the primary on-site contact for staff, vendors, venue representatives, and management
- Conduct team briefings and delegate responsibilities throughout the event
- Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise and make quick decisions when necessary
- Ensure the event site is clean, organized, and ready for guests
- Oversee the guest experience and assist with customer issues when required
- Coordinate hotel check-in and accommodations for the travelling team

- Manage event closing procedures and ensure everything is properly secured
- Lead the complete teardown following the event
- Load, organize, and transport equipment for the next event
- Complete post-event site checks to ensure nothing is left behind
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and represent Horizon Drive-In positively at all times

What We're Looking For
- Must have a valid driver's licence and be comfortable driving company vehicles
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple moving parts at once
- Comfortable working long event days, evenings, and weekends
- Hands-on attitude — willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done
- Able to work independently and make decisions without constant supervision
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Previous experience in event operations, logistics, hospitality, production, or team leadership is an asset
- Comfortable working outdoors and in changing weather conditions
- Physically capable of assisting with setup, teardown, loading, and unloading equipment

The Ideal Candidate You’re someone who naturally takes charge. You don't wait around to be told what needs to happen — you see a problem, figure out a solution, and get it done.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys events, travel, logistics, working with a team, and rapid-paced environments. Every weekend is different, and you'll play a major role in making sure Horizon Drive-In delivers a great experience for both our guests and our team.

If you're a strong leader who can handle the chaos of event weekends and keep everything moving, we want to hear from you.

Pay: From $75.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
