Part-Time Class 1 Driver – Modular Building Transport

CIP Modular is looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our transport team on a part time basis, moving modular buildings throughout Vancouver Island and British Columbia.

This position is based in Nanaimo, BC, with most work taking place on Vancouver Island. Hours will vary based on project and transport needs. Some projects will require travel elsewhere in BC, including overnight and remote work. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available for projects that may require being away from home for up to three weeks at a time.

CIP Modular supplies the truck, trailer, and required transport equipment.

We are looking for a safe, reliable, and motivated driver who takes pride in their work and equipment. The right candidate will be comfortable working as part of a team, following direction, solving problems, and continuing to build their skills.

Requirements

- Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
- Commercial driving experience, including experience with wide or oversized loads.
- Strong mechanical skills and a good understanding of semi-trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor mechanical repairs when needed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with drivers, site crews, supervisors, and customers.
- Willingness to follow direction, site procedures, and project requirements.
- Strong spatial reasoning and good judgement when positioning, moving, and placing large loads in tight or difficult areas.




- Experience transporting or working with modular buildings is strongly preferred.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a quick-paced, hands-on environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with part-time, variable hours based on project and transport needs.
- Willing and able to travel throughout BC, including occasional remote projects and stays of up to three weeks.

Site-specific and modular transport training will be provided where required.

Pay: $30.00-$37.50 per hour
