We are looking for a reliable, patient, and enthusiastic individual to provide learning and activity support for two children, ages 8 and 5.
The role includes sessions at Maple Grove Elementary in Vancouver, as well as some in-home sessions. Scheduling has some flexibility and can be arranged around school and other commitments.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support during learning, play, and everyday activities
- Help the children stay engaged and follow routines and instructions
- Support communication, social interaction, and age-appropriate independence
- Participate in activities such as reading, games, crafts, outdoor play, and community outings
- Help reinforce skills and strategies provided by the family and support team
- Provide easy updates to the parents after sessions
- Maintain a positive, patient, and encouraging environment
Qualifications We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, dependable, and comfortable working with children
- Able to build a positive and supportive relationship with children
- Comfortable following instructions and established routines
- Responsible and able to work independently
- A clear and reliable communicator
Experience working with children is an asset but not required. Students studying education, psychology, child development, social work, speech sciences, occupational therapy, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Training and guidance will be provided.
Location
Sessions take place primarily at Maple Grove Elementary in Vancouver, with additional sessions at the family's home.
Schedule
Part-time with flexible scheduling. Specific days and hours can be discussed based on availability.
