Focus on impactful relationship-building to aid individuals experiencing homelessness in their journey As a ShelterCare Support Worker, you will be key in supporting men in vulnerable situations, guiding them toward securing permanent housing while addressing their health and wellness needs. This role operates on a part-time contract basis, emphasizing team collaboration and a person-centered approach to care and support amid community challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build supportive relationships with program participants
- Implement harm reduction strategies and safety procedures
- Facilitate intake and create personalized housing plans
- Engage in crisis management and conflict de-escalation
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records Requirements:
- Relevant two-year post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Prior experience working with individuals facing homelessness
- Ability to manage crisis situations calmly
- Strong commitment to inclusive practices
