Role Description This full-time, in office Payroll Specialist role is based in Calgary, AB.

The Payroll

Specialist is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and handling payroll taxes, remittances, and garnishments. The role also involves responding to employee payroll inquiries, reconciling payroll reports, coordinating with HR and Finance on changes affecting payroll, and supporting audits or compliance reviews.

The Payroll





Specialist contributes to process improvements and helps ensure a consistent, confidential, and compliant payroll function.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration, including end-to-end payroll cycles and record management.
- Experience managing Payroll Taxes and working with Payroll Services providers or systems.
- Knowledge of handling Garnishments and other statutory or court-ordered deductions.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel, with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards,
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant education or certification in payroll, accounting, or a related field (e.g., PCP certification) is an asset.
