Duties
- Prepare metal parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and handling with appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and automated systems, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications
- Load and unload parts using cranes or forklifts safely and efficiently
- Inspect coated items for quality issues such as runs, drips, or uneven coverage; perform touch-ups as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency
- Assist with assembly or machining tasks when required to support production flow
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality inspections
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, and welding
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
