Are you an experienced medical office professional with a passion for leadership, cultural safety, and community-centred healthcare? Squamish Nation is seeking a Practice Lead, Clinic Operations to join the Yúustway Health & Wellness team. Reporting to the Manager, Primary Care, the Practice Lead provides day-to-day operational leadership and coordination for the Medical Office Administration (MOA) team at Kal'númet Primary Care Clinic. This role serves as a key liaison between clinical and administrative teams, supporting efficient clinic operations, continuity of care, quality improvement, and culturally safe service delivery for Squamish Nation Members.

What You’ll Do

- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and operational guidance to the Medical Office Administration team.
- Act as the first point of contact for workflow challenges, scheduling needs, and operational questions.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new MOA staff, including clinic workflows, EMR systems, and cultural safety practices.
- Coordinate clinic workflows and identify opportunities to improve administrative efficiency and service delivery.
- Review patient panel reports and support providers with care planning and panel management activities.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, external consultations, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of patient information and medical records within the EMR system.
- Support physician and nurse practitioner reporting, invoicing, and administrative processes.
- Monitor documentation accuracy,



confidentiality standards, and compliance with privacy legislation and organizational policies.
- Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and operational reviews to enhance clinic performance.
- Foster a welcoming, culturally safe, and trauma-informed environment for patients, families, and community members.
- Coordinate clinic supplies, equipment, communications, and other operational support activities to ensure smooth daily operations.

What We’re Looking For

- Medical Office Assistant (MOA) certificate or diploma, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Additional education in leadership, health administration, Indigenous cultural safety, or trauma-informed practice is considered an asset.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience with a diploma, or 6 years with a certificate, in a medical office environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a lead, senior, or coordination role, either formally or informally.
- Experience in a family practice, primary care, or community healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (such as OSCAR), Microsoft Office 365 applications, and large-scale database systems.
- Experience working within or alongside a First Nations community or organization is required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, provide mentorship, and foster collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to Indigenous cultural safety, humility, and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving,



and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge and understanding of Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw history, culture, customs, land, and People is preferred.

Salary: $57,990 - $81,186
