The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Process Safety Engineer on a permanent basis to work on-site in Regina, SK.

What you’ll do:
- Support the continued implementation and sustainment of CRC’s Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) and Process Safety Programs by developing a strong understanding of work processes and contributing to continuous improvement of the management system.
- Active in all phases of Risk Management: Identify, Assess, Control, Monitor & Review
- Develop or support development of Process Safety Information (PSI) including P&IDs;, selecting nodes for HAZOP, equipment documentation gathering, and DCS/SIS arrangement
- Lead, facilitate, or participate in PHA sessions (HAZOP, LOPA, PHA of Procedures, What-if)
- Lead or support Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination
- Involvement in SIL verification
- Document and present PHA results
- Document and present Risk Management metrics
- Provide recommendations to improve the PHA and Risk Management processes
- Support the assessment and recommendation of risk response alternatives
- Create or improve procedures for PHA and Risk Management practices
- Support or facilitate ad hoc operational risk assessments
- Develop or support systems to monitor identified risks and safeguard health
Who you’ll work with: The Team: You will work closely with other Process Safety Engineers and Advisors and a variety of other technical personnel throughout the refinery operation. The position reports to a Lead Process Safety Engineer.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Engineering & Engineering Technology and:
- Have 2+ years of experience in industrial operations, process, maintenance, or engineering design, preferably in upgrading, refining, or petrochemical operations
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ideally in Chemical, Industrial Systems, or Electronics Systems) and are a registered EIT or P.Eng. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Are familiar with Process Safety management system concepts.
