At King Street Construction, we specialize in Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs, backyard homes, coach houses), multi-family builds, and light commercial projects across Waterloo Region and Guelph. We’re looking for a Project Coordinator / Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with several years of experience in architecture, construction coordination, estimating, or a related field who wants to move beyond a primarily office-based role and become more involved in delivering projects from design and permitting through construction.
The long-term goal is to develop this person into a well-rounded Project Manager capable of taking increasing ownership of projects from permitting through construction and completion.
What You’ll Do
- Review architectural, structural, and consultant drawings and coordinate required revisions
- Prepare and coordinate building permit applications and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with municipal planning and building departments, including minor variances and other approvals where required
- Respond to permit review comments and coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants
- Coordinate building inspections and communicate with inspectors throughout construction
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and key milestones
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials, and project schedules
- Prepare and issue purchase orders to subcontractors and vendors
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide project updates
- Visit active job sites to monitor progress, quality, scheduling, and safety
- Identify and help resolve construction issues to keep projects moving
- Take increasing responsibility for managing projects from permit issuance through construction and closeout
What We’re Looking For
- Post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in architecture, construction, estimating, or project coordination preferred
- Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, permitting, and residential construction is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and take ownership
- Eager to learn and grow into a construction project management role
- Comfortable working in both office and active construction environments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning project management software
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle

- Salary of $60,000–$75,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications
