Role Description The Range Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at The Range @ Urban Tactical in , Brantford, ON. This position oversees daily range operations, including supervising staff, managing lane usage and reservations, ensuring strict adherence to all safety procedures, and coordinating equipment maintenance.
The Range
Director leads and supports range safety officers and customer service personnel, provides guidance and coaching, and ensures guests receive clear safety briefings and an excellent overall experience.
Responsibilities include scheduling, training team members, monitoring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, and addressing any operational issues or customer concerns that arise.

Director also collaborates with management on program development, events, and promotional activities, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe setting throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- Experience in range operations, firearms instruction, or a related safety-focused environment, with strong knowledge of firearms handling and safety practices.
- Leadership and team management skills, including staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and scheduling in a customer-facing setting.
- Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear safety briefings, resolve issues, and create a welcoming experience for guests of all experience levels.
- Operational and administrative skills, such as organizing daily activities, maintaining records, coordinating events, and overseeing equipment and facility maintenance.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions in safety-sensitive situations, and enforce rules consistently and respectfully.
- Basic computer proficiency for managing bookings, reports, and internal communication systems.
- Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, security, law enforcement, or military settings is an asset.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by range operations.
- Relevant safety certifications or firearms-related training are preferred; willingness to complete additional training provided by the employer is required.
