Job Overview
Burkett Asset Management is seeking a Receptionist to join its growing team.
The successful candidate will reflect our firm’s core values while providing high quality support to all members of our team as well as our clients. This is a full time position reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
As part of Burkett Asset Management, you will support a growing independent investment management firm that serves institutions, advisors, and high-net-worth clients. You will work with a professional, client-focused team that values trust, discretion, high standards, and long-term relationships.
Responsibilities
Client Service and Reception
- Greeting clients and visitors in a qualified and welcoming manner
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Setting up meetings, boardrooms, and conference/Zoom calls
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, couriers, and client payments
Office Workplace
- Maintaining the reception area, lobby, boardrooms, kitchen, washrooms, and common spaces
- Ordering and restocking office, kitchen, washroom, coffee, and water supplies
- Supporting office cleanliness, recycling, shredding, filing areas, and general organization
- Maintaining printers, photocopiers, Wi-Fi information, boardroom technology, and other office equipment
- Coordinating service providers for items such as carpet cleaning, window washing, fire extinguisher inspections, water cooler service, and office furniture needs
Administrative and Team Support
- Archiving documents for off-site storage and supporting file room organization
- Maintaining the first-aid kit and first responders list
- Assisting with office events, social committee logistics, and other team activities as needed
- Supporting other administrative tasks and special projects as required
Job Requirements
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education or office administration training is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and friendly manner.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams/Zoom, and general office technology.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to follow established procedures while working independently.
Job Type & Location
- Full-time (Monday to Friday), on-site.
- Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
