Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Guiding patients with a focus on health promotion and preventive medicine including: Chronic disease management, medication guidance, referrals or links to community resources.
- Wound care, suture/staple removal, specimen collection, injections, immunizations, ear syringing, vital signs and patient prep for physician visits.
- Providing Prenatal, Well Baby, Well Child, and Well Woman care (educational workshops and training available).
- Following transparent medical directives provided by the Hamilton Family Health Team.
- Documenting accurate and pertinent patient information.
- Informing and educating patients regarding the meaning and implications of test results.
- Monitoring and maintaining infection control.
- Monitoring supplies.
Qualifications and skills
- Current registration as RN with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Ability to work well with other health-care professionals with team approach
- Effective organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in oral and written English
- Experience working in a family practice, community or primary health care setting is an asset
- Working knowledge of Practice Solutions is helpful
Pay: From $32.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate
- Hamilton, ON L9A 3V4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)
