S2627-39 Educational Assistant - North Star Elementary School

We are seeking a full time (1.0 FTE)Temporary Educational Assistant to commence with the start of the 2026-2027 school. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behavior skills, self-help. Training in speech, language and numeracy strategies will be a definite asset.

North Star Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 430 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Preference will be give to who have:

- Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
- Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
- Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiencywith computers
- Familiaritywith strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
- Knowledge and experience in alternate communicationstrategies

Training and skills that would be an asset include:

- Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
- SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
