We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Advisor (5+ years) to support the ongoing success of a comprehensive health and safety program within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, this individual will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting employee training, conducting inspections and investigations, maintaining safety records, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

This position is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys balancing field presence with administration, training, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with employees, leadership teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Compliance (60-70% of the role)

- Support and continuously improve the company's Health & Safety Program while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and COR requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, incident investigations, and hazard assessments, while tracking corrective actions and safety performance metrics.
- Monitor workplace activities and address hazards, unsafe behaviours, and non-compliance through coaching, corrective actions, and education.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills, identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement.
- Support WCB claims management, incident reporting, documentation, and return-to-work processes.
- Act as a health and safety resource for employees, supervisors, leadership teams, contractors, and Joint Health & Safety Committee members.

Training & Safety Administration (30-40% of the role)

- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training, including new employee orientations and certification programs.
- Maintain training records, safety matrices, certifications, safety statistics, and compliance documentation.
- Develop and update toolbox talks, safety bulletins, policies,



safe work procedures, hazard assessments, and training materials.
- Coordinate contractor documentation, visitor orientations, equipment inspections, and occupational hygiene testing.
- Prepare safety reports, meeting materials, committee documentation, and maintain plant safety boards and safety binders.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of Occupational Health & Safety experience , preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Safety Officer designation required.
- CRSP, CRST, and/or MSO designation considered strong assets.
- Train-the-Trainer certifications (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Overhead Crane, Rigging, Fall Protection) are considered an asset.
- Valid Alberta Driver's License.
