This is a full time contract position dependent on contract renewal. $26.00 per hour plus pension and perks.

The Town of Tisdale - Northeast Newcomers Services is looking for a Settlement Advisor. The Closing Date for Applicants is Open until Filled.

Key Responsibilities

- Support newcomers with settlement needs, information, referrals, and general inquiries
- Assist with immigration navigation and accessing community resources
- Connect newcomers with language, employment, career, and other support services
- Conduct needs assessments and provide ongoing client support
- Travel throughout the region to meet with clients who are unable to travel
- Develop partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and employers
- Participate in community outreach, committees, and planning initiatives
- Maintain client files, statistics, reports, social media, and resource information
- Provide general administrative and office support

Looking for someone who is:





- A strong communicator and relationship builder
- Organized, compassionate, and client-focused
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Knowledgeable about community resources and settlement services
- Culturally aware and respectful of diverse backgrounds
- Flexible and willing to travel throughout the region
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are an asset
- Experienced working with newcomers or diverse communities

Requirements:

- An undergraduate degree (not restricted to, but preferably) in one of the following areas: Commerce, Education, English Language Arts, International Studies, Indigenous Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Social Work or Psychology
- 1-2 years experience in the non-profit sector (preferably related to newcomers)
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience will be considered
- Criminal record check (vulnerable sector included)
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Access to a vehicle
