Position Summary The Spa Massage Therapist is responsible for providing exceptional massage and body treatments in a professional, relaxing, and guest-focused spa environment.

The Massage Therapist will deliver treatments according to spa protocols while providing personalized care, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism, and contributing to guest retention and the overall success of the spa.

This position is for spa, relaxation, and wellness massage services and is not an RMT position unless specifically stated otherwise.

Key ResponsibilitiesMassage & Treatment Services

- Perform professional spa and relaxation massage treatments according to established spa protocols.
- Provide services such as relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, specialty massage, and body treatments according to training and qualifications.
- Conduct a brief consultation with each guest before beginning treatment.
- Review relevant intake information and discuss treatment preferences, areas of focus, pressure preferences, and comfort.
- Customize treatments within the scope of the spa's treatment protocols and the therapist's training.
- Maintain appropriate qualified boundaries at all times.
- Monitor guest comfort throughout the treatment.
- Provide appropriate aftercare and home-care recommendations.
- Ensure treatments begin and finish on time.

Guest Experience
- Create a warm, professional, relaxing, and personalized experience for every guest.
- Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests.
- Encourage guests to return for appropriate future treatments.
- Recommend additional spa treatments when they would benefit the guest.
- Work closely with reception to assist with appropriate rebooking.
- Address guest concerns professionally and notify management when assistance is required.

Treatment Room Standards




- Prepare the treatment room before each appointment.
- Ensure linens, towels, oils, products, and supplies are properly stocked.
- Clean, sanitize, and reset the treatment room between every guest.
- Maintain excellent sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, quiet, and guest-ready throughout the shift.
- Properly handle used linens and assist with laundry procedures when required.
- Report equipment, maintenance, product, or supply concerns to management.

Product & Retail Recommendations
- Develop knowledge of spa products used during treatments.
- Educate guests about appropriate home-care products when relevant.
- Recommend retail products based on the guest's individual needs.
- Support spa retail promotions and initiatives.
- Maintain professional product knowledge through ongoing education.

Team & Spa Operations
- Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled shifts and treatments.
- Maintain accurate guest and treatment information as required.
- Communicate appointment delays, guest concerns, or scheduling issues promptly.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in ongoing treatment and product education.
- Work cooperatively with receptionists, estheticians, massage therapists, management, and other team members.
- Assist in maintaining a professional and positive spa environment.
- Follow all company policies, treatment protocols, sanitation procedures, and safety requirements.

Qualifications
- Recognized massage therapy, spa therapy,



or bodywork education/training appropriate for the services being performed.
- Previous spa or hospitality experience is an asset.
- Strong massage and body treatment skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail and guest comfort.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and treatment training.
- Comfortable recommending appropriate services and retail products to guests.

Performance Expectations Massage Therapists are expected to maintain high standards in:

Compensation Structure Massage Therapists are compensated using an hourly wage + service commission structure.

Compensation may include

- Guaranteed hourly wage based on experience, qualifications, performance, and seniority.
- Service commission on eligible massage and body treatments performed.
- Retail commission on eligible personal retail sales.
- Guest gratuities/tips in addition to regular compensation.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
