Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Coach - Redbirds Hockey, the Technical Specialist will assist in the implementation of performance and student-athlete development initiatives that support the success of McGill Redbirds program. The incumbent will provide technical, analytical, and operational support to the coaching staff and contribute to the overall development of the program. The incumbent will be expected to lead and assist in all talent identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and implementation of long-term athlete development plans.
- Conduct video analysis following games and practices, identifying trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare opposition pre-scout reports, including player and team tendencies.
- Support the coaching staff in the planning and execution of practices, games, and athlete development initiatives.
- Record game activities and maintain statistical data.
- Analyze individual and team performance metrics and prepare reports for the coaching staff.
- Prepare, organize, maintain, and distribute team equipment for practices and games.
- Assist with gameday and practice operations to ensure a high-performance training environment.
- Provide technical and administrative support related to athlete performance and team operations.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of the hockey sport
- Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level
- Level II NCCP certification or equivalent
- Able to commit to a flexible schedule
- Bilingual – French and English
